What to Expect at Your First Visit

A calm, considered approach
— at your pace.

We understand that every patient arrives with different needs, experiences, and expectations. Your first visit at Victoria Park Dental Care is designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported from the moment you arrive.

There’s no rush — and no pressure.

Before you arrive

You’ll be asked to complete a medical and dental history so we can understand your overall health and any specific concerns. If there’s anything you’d like us to know — anxiety, time constraints, past experiences — you’re welcome to let us know in advance.

When you arrive

You’ll be welcomed into a calm, friendly environment where we take the time to get to know you. Your appointment begins with a conversation about what brought you in, any concerns, symptoms or goals you may have, your past dental experiences, and how you’re feeling about today’s visit. This thoughtful introduction allows us to tailor your care around you — not the other way around.

Your examination

Your examination is unhurried and explained clearly as we go. Depending on your needs, this may include a gentle assessment of your teeth, gums and bite, along with digital imaging where clinically appropriate. Any findings are discussed in clear, easy-to-understand language, and you’re always encouraged to ask questions, pause or take a break at any point.

Understanding Your Options

If treatment is recommended, we’ll guide you through what’s involved, why it may be beneficial, and any suitable alternative options. We’ll also discuss timing, costs and next steps so you have a clear picture of the path ahead. There is never any obligation to proceed on the day — our goal is simply for you to feel informed, supported and confident in whatever decision you choose.

  • If you’re feeling unsure or nervous, you’re not alone.

Appointments can be adjusted to suit your comfort level — with slower pacing, clear explanations, check-ins, and flexibility throughout. You remain in control at all times.

If appropriate, we can also discuss comfort options such as Relative Analgesia (Happy Gas).
